Food-Grade 3PL Warehousing

A food grade warehouse stores human and pet food under documented sanitation, pest control, and traceability programs. Submit one request and compare 3 to 5 quotes from audited food grade 3PL partners.

What it is

Food-grade warehousing means the facility runs a formal food safety program: a third-party audit such as AIB, SQF, or BRCGS, documented sanitation schedules, an active pest control contract, allergen segregation, and lot and date-code capture at receipt.

Most network partners hold dry ambient space. Cooler, freezer, and climate-controlled space exists in fewer buildings, so those requests get shopped wider and sometimes return slightly fewer quotes.

Who needs it

  • Packaged food and beverage brands scaling beyond their own space
  • Importers of shelf-stable goods that need FDA-registered storage
  • Co-packers and manufacturers with seasonal or production overflow
  • Pet food and supplement brands with lot traceability requirements

How pricing typically works

Storage is quoted per pallet position per month, usually with a monthly minimum. Food-grade dry space typically carries a modest premium over general freight because of audit and sanitation overhead.

Handling is quoted separately as an in-and-out rate per pallet, covering receipt, putaway, and pick for outbound. Expect line items for pallet rework, case picking, labeling, and lot-level reporting.

Frequently asked questions

Clear terms. No cost. Your choice.

01What certifications should a food grade warehouse have?

At minimum an FDA facility registration and a current third-party audit, most often AIB, SQF, or BRCGS. Tell us which your customers require and we only send quotes from facilities that hold it.

02Can I get cold storage through the network?

Yes, though cooler and freezer capacity is tighter than dry space in every market. Those requests often take a few extra days and may return three quotes rather than five.

03Do partners handle organic or allergen-segregated product?

Many do. Flag organic certification or allergen segregation on your request so partners price the required separation and cleaning into their quote up front.
